May 22-24    1st Annual ‘Mushroom Round up ‘ Prizes for campers finding the MOST Mushrooms & BIGGEST Mushroom (by weight)
May 22-25    Memorial Day Weekend – Our pool’s open!

June – 2009

June 7           Relax while camping & enjoy the Strawberry Full Moon
June 14          FLAG DAY….Come camp with us & display your flag.
June 19-21    Dad’s Day Weekend – Take him fishing or golfing just down the road! Want us to make reservations for you???
June 26-28   Wolverine’s ‘Lumberjack Festival ‘ Stay with us while you enjoy great nearby events:

JULY – 2009

July 3-5 July 4th weekend — Display your best Patriotic decorations! Make Elkwood Campground your home base for all local events!
July 17-19 Pool Party Weekend!! Come camping & enjoy the pool. Campers are invited to our Friday Night Free Movie & our ‘Tropical Pool Party’ on Saturday evening!

AUGUST – 2009

August 8-10 It’s the Dogs Days of August & Elkwood has gone to the dogs! Camp with your pooch!
1st Annual Pooch Parade Saturday evening led by none other than…..’Harry the Wonder Weenie ‘
August 28-30 1st Annual Bluegrass & Gospel Music Weekend
Enjoy the Music- Bring your instruments, join in, or sit back & listen to the pro’s!
Bring your lawn chair, local residents are welcome for a small fee!

SEPTEMBER – 2009

Sept. 4-7 Your weekend—Labor Day !!!!!! Come relax & enjoy our beautiful campground.
Sept 7 52nd Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk…..only 45 minutes away. Enjoy the festivities & then rest with us!
Sept 22 Fall begins! Walk our trails & see Michigan’s real beauty.

OCTOBER – 2009

Oct 1-31 Creepy Camping Month – Sit by the campfire & listen to the woods. Shhhhh! Did you hear that? Storytelling & Halloween Party to be announced.

NOVEMBER – 2009

Nov. 1 Nov 1 – through end of hunting season
Ready to find the one for the record books????
Use Elkwood as your home base through scouting & hunting season
Nov. 26 Thanksgiving! Let’s camp, be thankful, & maybe we’ll see some wild turkeys!

DECEMBER – 2009

Dec 1-31 Open till 1/1 Come winter camp with us!
Rent our mobile home or 5th wheel Camper!
Use us as your snowmobile home base — We’re near trails in both Wolverine & Gaylord (Gaylord trails are 20 to 30 minutes down the interstate!)
Snowshoe our trails, find a hill to sled down & enjoy free coffee & doughnuts all month.
Dec 24-27 ‘Christmas in the Woods’ Weekend
Decorate your trailer or RV….Prizes for the best decorations….
Dec 31 Closed for the season (unless we’re too busy with winter campers & snow fun) You just never know!
